  • The College of Engineering is geared toward the future-oriented education philosophy, which is required to foster the informative and motivated engineers with the spirit of engineering services and entrepreneurship for the 21st century. Under the banners of information, specialization, and globalization, it stresses the value of devotion for the nation and the world as a whole.

    Since the establishment of the Department of Chemical Engineering in 1967, it has currently about 4,000 students registered in 2 schools (Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering) and 8 departments (Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering Chemistry, Advanced Materials Engineering, Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Urban Engineering, Architecture) with 82 devoted professors.

    The College had been financially supported by the Government on the specialized education fields such as the Construction Engineering in 1979 and Semiconductor, Information and Communication Engineering in 1994. In 2009, Ministry of Land, Transport and Marine Affairs (MLTM) designated the School of Civil Engineering as a specialized Program for International Construction and Ministry of Knowledge and Economics also funded the College to establish the other specialized education program titled as e.G Hub University for Industrial Collaboration, which is a rigorous cooperation program with regional industries existing within the Chungcheong provinces and Daejon Metropolitan City. In addition, the College has been pushing on the ABEEK program, Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea since last 3 years. It is a system to train experts of an excellent engineer with creative skills.

    In the post-graduated program of the Engineering College, a Technology Development Team for Building Environmentally Sound and Sustainable City is designated by the Ministry of Education and Science and Technology to provide our society well trained professionals equipped with international competitiveness through ensuring specialty, internationalization, and practicality of graduate education from 2005.

    Now the college is furnished with the state-of-the-art facilities for experiment and practical exercises, thanks to a loan of IBRD and OECF as well as the special support of Korean government. The college and its subsidiary centers have functioned as a sanctuary or an incubator of technical education and research through various co-works with private companies and public entities.
